What is the Beyond Wealth Scholarship?

The Beyond wealth Scholarships is a mentorship program which was launched in 2020 to give the brightest children from minority ethnic backgrounds the best chance of attending leading universities and study in a field of their choosing.

Successful candidates are paired with leaders in the field and will be given support with work experience, shadowing, personal statements and interviews.

Who is eligible?

Eligible applicants must

  • ✔ Be from minority ethnic backgrounds
  • ✔ Be in school years 10, 11 or 12.
  • ✔ Demonstrate a track record of hard work.
Who is a mentor?

A mentor is an expert in the field of choice of the successful scholar who has given up very valuable time and dedicated it to supporting the scholar achieve his/her goal.

What is a successful scholar required to do?
  • ✔ Take the initiative to arrange meetings with mentor
  • ✔ Send overview of what you will like discussed at session beforehand including any useful documents like your personal statement
  • ✔ Complete feedback after each session and email to info@beyondwealth.com
  • ✔ Contact the administrator if you have any concerns
  • Be an ambassador for the programme.
When can I apply?

The Beyond Wealth Scholarship runs twice a year: the February edition and the November edition. The application portal is open for a few months before then to allow for adequate applications. Application can be done within any of those openings.

Who picks the successful candidate?

A steering committee made up of members drawn from different sectors including medicine, law, pharma, finance, business and engineering meet twice a year to pick successful candidates and monitor their progress.

Does the Beyond Wealth Scholarship offer bursaries or financial assistance to successful candidates?

This scholarship program is not a cash-in-hand scholarship. It provides free coaching and mentorship with experts including someone in the chosen field of the successful scholar. This kind of experience is not free and are quite expensive.
